Fill the header row per job

One row per work order. Keep WO numbers sequential — future-you will thank you.

Update status as it moves

Queued, in progress, done. The sheet works when updates are a habit, not an afterthought.

Review the column weekly

Sort by due date every Monday and the sheet becomes a plan — briefly.

When the spreadsheet becomes the problem.

The template records jobs; it can't reserve materials, chase statuses, or update from the floor. When updating the sheet becomes someone's job, that's the tell.
