What's the difference between this and an asset register?
An equipment inventory leans operational (where is it, what state); an asset register leans financial (cost, depreciation). Ours overlap on purpose — small shops need one sheet, not two departments.
Should small tools go on it?
Anything worth finding or insuring. Sub-$50 consumable-ish tools usually work better as counted inventory — see the tool inventory template.
